What does 10A Mean on DHGate? (and other common Keywords)
Whether you’re a new or an experienced shopper on DHGate, you’ve probably come across keywords such as “10A” and you’ve asked what does 10A mean on DHGate?
I’ve done my fair share of shopping on DHGate, one of China’s well known online shopping platforms. You’ll come across some phrases or short letter and word combinations in the titles of certain items you are shopping for. These items are usually bags, shoes, clothes, or even jewelry. So lets go over a few of them so that you can become a much more savvy shopper on DHGate.
10A
This one’s a pretty common one and almost used ubiquitously on any replica, dupe or designer inspired handbag advertised on DHGate without the actual designer name listed on there.
Sellers have created some sort of scale in terms of describing the quality of the item, and they use the letter A to depict that. Think of it as a grade on a math exam. An A is the best grade you can get. Same goes with product quality. 10A means its A quality but on a scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is the highest. So put them together and you’ve got a double whammy – supposedly the highest quality you can get.
Don’t be fooled though. On DHGate, sellers will put just about anything on a product title to tempt you to purchase. You should really do more research because a lot of sellers bait and switch. In other words, just because a listing says “10A Quality”, does not necessarily mean it is. Would you think a Chanel Handbag dupe listed as 10A quality but priced at $50 be a good deal? More than likely not!
7A, 5A, AAA+, A+, and other related
Sometimes sellers on DHGate can be honest (LOL!) and mark their listings with a different numbered A to give a better description of it’s quality.
The A’s in this case are on a scale from 1 to 10 where 10A (explained above) is supposed to be mirror or top quality (basically, like buying the real thing). An A+ means its a 1A and considered decent quality still. The leather may not be the same (or it may not be made of leather at all).
Then there’s AAA or 3A which is a step up in quality. A step above that is 5A and then there’s even better quality of 7A. The high the quality the more you’ll be paying. Some items are handmade, perhaps just like the real thing, which could take a while to produce and be delivered to you.
Mirror, Top, and High Quality
You might also come across these three phrases: “Mirror Quality”, “Top Quality” or “High Quality”. These are also used to describe varying scales of quality. To be more specific:
High Quality: This means that an item is often made of real leather either of the same type of leather or something very close that mimics the real product. However, it is made of a leather, regardless. The product’s workmanship is very good, although there might be some slight differences, however those are very small and not noticeable unless you are explicitly looking for them. Price point for high quality items are actually very reasonable!
Top Quality: This means that the quality is a bit better than “high quality”. Items described as top quality usually adopt the same materials used as the actual designer items and the workmanship is ultra-fine. It is also very difficult to detect against the real ones. The price point is higher but it is great to give as a gift or if you would like to keep a dupe version of a real item you have when traveling in the event it gets lost, stolen or damaged! Think of it as a “stunt double”!
Mirror Quality: This means that it is very likely a 1-to-1 match with the real thing. Often factories in which designer items and good are made have a surplus of materials, so workers will usually “moonlight” and make the exact same product overnight or on off hours. It’ll be made with the same exact materials in the same location and by workers who make the authentic versions. The only difference here is that it is not sold at an official store for that brand. Expect the prices to be a bit of a shocker but still no where near the cost of the original one.
Hopefully after reading this article you get a better sense on what does 10A means on DHGate. But shop with caution and be wary of prices that don’t obviously reflect quality. In addition don’t believe all those hyped up keywords we all see nowadays. Take your time to find and purchase the products you want. DHGate can be a fun place to shop if you know what you’re doing!
