Top picks for Formal Spring Midi Dresses (And where to get them)
Happy April everyone! As we make our way closer to summer and those hotter days, we should still embrace the perfect weather that spring affords us! This is the perfect opportunity for me to show off those cute spring midi dresses I’ve been dying to wear all year.
My favorite length of dresses are midi (ones that hit mid calf) and in just about any style. Lately I’ve been eyeing tulle and linen fabric because it is light weight and can give the dress its shape.
Here’s a few picks I’m sticking to this 2024 spring season!
Fit & Flare
This spring, I’m going all in on sleeveless, sweetheart neckline midi dresses with flare.
If it’s got an adjustable belt – even better!
This shape suits me because I’m personally hourglass shaped so I love a dress that accentuates the waist. A belt does wonders for a dress. So if you find a fit & flare style dress like this, try pairing it with a belt. It also helps to keep the dress from sliding down especially if there’s no sleeves to support it up.
Personally this is one of my favorite styles, but the sweetheart neckline is what can make or break the dress. You’ll just need to make sure it can fit your bustline.
Good fabrics for this style dress include tulle, satin, boned linen, and organza.
My favorite places to shop for midi dresses are ASOS, Revolve and Aliexpress, Although if you’re planning to purchase on Aliexpress, keep in mind that shipping can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.
And if you’re purchasing a dress that needs customizations, pad a little more time on top of shipping. But personally, it is well worth it. I am able to give my exact measurements and I’ll get a dress that fits me like a glove.
Embroidered & Floral
I’m a sucker for floral and embroidered dresses. Put the two together and I just can’t resist!
Get: Zimmermann Matchmaker Floral Linen & Silk Midi Dress
In this category, there’s simply too many to choose from. I’ve been loving the floral midi dresses from Zimmermann (I wore in Dubai, pictured above). They fit well and are made of linen with a tulle boning underneath for support.
But I love a good fit & flare style, and bonus points if there’s some sort of intricacy to it such as embroidery or embellishments.
Again, I love to shop on Aliexpress for unique formal sprint midi dresses because a lot of the shops on there actually customize to your measurements. Here’s a few of my favorite picks. Also, remember that pink strawberry printed dress that went viral on social media, including TikTok? Well I found a shop that makes a high quality one exactly to your measurements (with excellent ratings too!).

Are you looking for a dress that is ready-made?
I love the following brands that offer cutesy, princess inspired, formal spring midi dresses in a ton of different sizes and cuts.
Chi Chi London
This brand was founded in 1982 in London and they offer inclusive sizing and shapes. You’ll find tons of embroidered lace styles imported from all over the world. Whenever I think of embroidered dresses I think of Chi Chi London! All of their designs are crafted in house. These dresses are affordable in price and range from $100 – $200.
Alamour the Label
I actually just stumbled upon this brand recently and purchased a bunch of dresses from them. Alamour The Label is based in Australia and they offer many beautifully designed dresses. They even have a bridal series. You can also have your dresses customized with them.
Dresses here are a bit pricier – ranging from $200 – $600 for most dresses. I would wait for their sales though, you can snag some midi dresses from them for $100 or less!
