EDC Orlando 2024 Lineup Disappoints: Missing Big Names and Fresh Talent

Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Orlando has always been a highly anticipated event for EDM enthusiasts like myself and my large group of friends! The EDC Orlando 2024 lineup was recently released, and while it’s packed with big names and talented artists, I’ll admit I’m pretty disappointed. Here’s why.

Missing Big Names

First of all, let’s take a look at the lineup that was recently released a few days ago. I can’t help but wonder, is this the final lineup announcement or will there be more? Surely there will be more, right???

There’s lots of B2B sets which I think is great but I honestly don’t know or haven’t heard of most of these DJs on here. I’m sure they’re great and have awesome sets but where the heck are my personal top 4 favorite DJs???

My top 4 DJs being Armin Van Buuren, Alan Walker, Hardwell and Alok.

I’m thinking there’s going to be another announcement with some of the bigger name DJs making their appearance. November is still a ways away so who knows. I also think that they’ll need to make an announcement for who will be playing on what field and on what day so this list above will be broken down into three separate days.

Also, I was hoping Tchami B2B Malaa (my new favorite DJs) would make an appearance but they’re not on the list either! Last year, I got to hear Malaa play his own set on Kinetic field. But when they play together they make some of the best sets I’ve heard! For example, this is probably my favorite set so far of theirs (Tomorrowland Winter 2024):

In addition to those big name DJs I just mentioned, where’s Afrojack or even Steve Aoki on the list? They usually do a B2B set called “Afroki” but they’re not mentioned here either!

I’m praying they make an update because my friends and I paid good money for VIP passes, hotel, and airfare for that weekend. so we definitely want to see some of the bigger DJs there!

By the way, have you seen this Afrojack set? It’s one of my favorite of his and I was actually there at Tomorrowland Brazil 2023 last year, but I missed this particular set (that entire day, actually!) because I got food poisoning, sigh!

Something to look forward to

While I may be disappointed in this year’s lackluster list of attending DJs, I am looking forward to some of the names I do see up there!

Here’s a few I’ll be attending at this year’s EDC event. We’ve got:

• Alesso

• Deorro B2B Timmy Trumpet (he played a great set at Ultra Croatia – really hyped up the crowd there. I also found it funny that he remixed the NFL theme song intro and none of the Europeans knew what that was, LOL).

• Oh my bad! Steve Aoki IS ATTENDING! He’s B2Bing with Dimitri Vegas – I guess that means Afrojack isn’t attending, so sad!

• Fisher

• Galantis

• Tiesto – he’s a classic and has been around forever, but I’m honestly ready to hear other sets.

• John Summit

• Gareth Emery

Ok, so maybe this list isn’t so bad. There may be enough worth seeing for the long weekend. But it’s still pretty disappointing when not even one of my top 4 will be there!
