All Dolled up! 3 Barbie-Inspired Outfits Perfect for the Movie Premiere
Anyone else excited for the premiere of the Barbie movie in theaters tomorrow? To be honest, I’m more excited to wear pink! But I’ll be watching the movie with my group of my lady friends.
In fact, we’ve got brunch plans and the theme is, of course, pink! This then followed by going to the movies (in our pink outfit) to watch Barbie together.
So while I eagerly wait for my upcoming event with my friends, I did a quick mental inventory review of my closet to see if I had anything pink I wanted to wear! I came across three main pieces I wanted to style and decided to put together a few inspiration boards to share with you. While I don’t have all these items exactly, I can muster up some creativity and find very similar pieces!
The Pink Preppy Look
This look was inspired by a pink puff tulle dress I recently purchased from ASOS (and also depicted in the collage above). I also have the Gianni Bini pink chiffon pearl bow heels also included in the collage. I purchased these at Dillard’s.
There’s something undeniably sophisticated about the combination of pink pop hues, gold, lace and pearls and polished silhouettes. And while I don’t have that exact Christian Dior handbag (ugh, wish I did!), I do have a similar, slightly off-white Lady Dior handbag which I’m considering pairing with the dress and shoes. Pink headbands and pearly jewelry are pretty easy to find any style with this ensemble so you can’t go wrong with those accessories!

The Pink Springtime Picnic Look
I’m totally in love with this pink pastel dress from House of CB. It is little on the pricey side but you can find dupes for it on AliExpress or Amazon for a fraction of the price and the fit is essentially an exact match.
This dress gives off picnic vibes so my collage for it consisted of pieces with whites, nudes, canvas and wicker material. I’m loving the white bow and the wicker hat with the white bow accent. I’m also torn between nude heels or bow heels. I think if you’re going to accessories with a lot of whites & canvas and/or wicker, perhaps a pair of pink bow heels would work better than the nude heels. I’m also loving the sunglasses as they give off vintage Audrey Hepburn-esq towards the entire style. Very simple gold and white enamel jewelry (just a simple necklace and a bracelet will do) will add a bit of sophistication. And since this is giving “lets go for a picnic”, what better perfume to pair it with than the Flowerbomb.

The Pink Girl Boss Look
Brunch doesn’t always have to be dress-oriented. You can make a business-like attire work just as good and still give off a feminine and casual weekender vibe. My inspiration for this collage centers around a pair of pink with satin band, high waisted pants.
This is a rather simple look in terms of accessories. It’s breathable and comfortable yet still stylish and chic. A flowy blouse which you can hike up the sleeves a bit to give you that 3/4 sleeve look if you want or keep it long sleeve. The bow on the sleeve is a nice added touch! I love puss-bow sleeve blouses. I decided to forgo a blazer as I felt it added too much to the outfit and would’ve made it seem like going to a business meeting, which was not the look I was wanting to go for.
The shoes really add to the glam of the look. I wanted to go with something somewhat simple but still elegant. These close-toed heels are perfect because they’re crystal covered and give off the silver/white gold look. Pair that with a simple bracelet or two which also has some crystals and now you’re matching your whole ensemble! Add in a large tote in a matching pink hue – you cannot go wrong with a Kate Spade tote bag here!
